Well the easy way it to buy a new digital camera such as the Cannon ZR-65mc
found at the Apple store.

8mm tape into the input of the camera then output thru firewire to iMovie.
You can then edit your movie and if you have a DVD recorder make a DVD of
the movie. The Cannon has a digitizer that will convert analog to digital.

Please tell me your methods for transferring 8mm to digital. Do you
just project it on a wall and re-film it? Or is there a device special
for this?

I bought a converter-something on e-bay, but it's kind of quirky, with
mirrors etc.
