Hi Leah,

Well, I've never seen that error message, ever!  Jerry may be right.  Check
the CD.

Also, this could be indicative of a root level problem i.e. hard disk
formatted standard instead of extended (HFS+) or the hard disk having been
formatted with a non-compatible formatting utility (installing an
incompatible driver).

If preservation of data were of no concern, I'd reformat the drive with
Apple's drive setup found in the Utilities folder on the CD you're
attempting to use.  And if all else fails, you may have to buy OS 9 for that
cpu (Apple would appreciate that).  Maybe that G4 install CD just doesn't
like the G3 in question, particularly if it's a beige G3 tower.
