Ward, My powerbook is more than 10 feet from the printer and when I hooked up the printer to the computer the computer could not see the printer. Undaunted, I disconnected the computer and reconnected it closer to the printer. I opened the chooser and selected the printer. The OSX desktop machine does not see the printer when it is connected to the laptop running OS 9.2.2.
I don't know if this makes a difference but the laptop does not have a built in usb port. I am using an orange micro usb pcmcia card. I'll check out the url you sent. Thanks for your help. I?ve never tried it. Yet when I try to print from the powerbook I get a message that says the printer is not responding. Help! Thanks.
