When I try to open any Appleworks document (extension.cwk), a window opens:
"There is no default application specified to open... [document.cwk]"
I klik "Choose application."
A window opens offering "Recommended Applications." AppleWorks is not
recommended.
I switch to "All Applications" and klik Appleworks.
The window responds: "It is not known if this application can open
Appleworks.mdimporter Document"
I klik "Open" [AppleWorks]. AppleWorks does not open the document/
I klik the document icon and type [command][i] for information. The
resulting window shows:
Open with: none.
I klik "Other"
A window opens exposing applications to choose. AppleWorks is grayed out.
On other occasions, AppleWorks was not grayed out, and I could choose
it, but could not "Change All", nor do I think the information window
changed the "Open with:" application.
What to do?
Is there a preferences file I should delete?
I CAN open the documents by opening AppleWorks, File/ Open.
