I did download the driver  from the hp web site and it
did  not work. I tried calling hp and they no longer
provide support for the printer. I then called apple
tech support and they could not help either. They did
say it was probably because my mac is intel based and
the driver may not be compatible with that. They
emailed me a list of printers that are compatible with
the intel based mac.
