There are two apps that will do what you're looking for.

You can use Mac the Ripper to grab the video off the disk. IIRC, it will 
give you all the TS files you need.

The other is MPEG Streamclip

This is absolutely my favorite, it's sort of like GraphicConverter for 
video. Reads just about everything and converts to just about anything. 
Both are good to have, although you may not need both.

You can use Mac the Ripper to get the TS files and Streamclip to convert 
them to .dv files which you can drop into iMovie and play with.
