Marta, because I'm on the digest, I haven't read carefully through all the posts regarding your 24-hour time problem; maybe it's been solved. But at my end it's easy (I'm on OS 10.4.6). Click on the day and hour in the menu bar. You'll get a pull-down that says, among other things, "Open Date & Time." When that's down, click on "Clock." You'll get a check box that says "Use a 24-hour clock." Check the box. I haven't tried it, because my military days are long past, and I don't want to get stuck in 24-hour time :>)
