To Lee, Bill R., and Jerry, Thanks for the answers at the meeting. I did successfully download Stuffit 8.0.2. Now what I do with it is anybody's guess. I did the install on Internet Explorer, per Lee's advice. I trashed all the old Stuffit stuff.
Wasn't as successful with Pith Helmet. I used the web address I thought I saw on the screen, Bill. It was: <http://culater.net/software/PithHelmet/php>. I got a web page that just said "Oops! Not Ready", or something of the sort. I used Safari for the Pith helmet attempt, which I understood to be appropriate. I thought I'd succeeded in installing a Real One Player, also. However, I got no result when I tried to get a program to play. Perhaps I just don't understand how that whole game plan works. So, all my Real One icons, etc. are also trashed and I'm ready to start that fresh. I'd love to be able to sit down to my iMac (at any time of day that suits me), pick a program from WFPL's "This American Life" or "The Splendid Table" and listen to it. iTunes usually pops itself into the mix some where during this series of steps... at some time or another a little screen with on/off and volume arrows appears. But there's nary a sound to be heard, ever. Does anyone have a clue as to how to guide me through this procedure? Jerry?
