While we are at it, Mike, you can also set the size of the icons ( I 
have a slew sitting there always : documents, weather, my .mac calendar 
and mail- which I consult daily)  and you can set  the typing under or 
to the right of the icons in different sizes and have the icons sit 
like little soldiers either according to alphabet, size or kind. I try 
to limit myself to not more than can show up in  one line from top to 
bottom  . For more I keep a
"catch-all" folder until I can clean up things.
