Harry, here's the way I do it: I record the DVD to my video camera, via a cable that came with my Sony camera (I don't know what the cable is called; I've looked for another one at Best Buy, etc., with no luck). Then I download the video into iMovie for editing. For short films, it's quick and easy if you have the cable or can find one.
