Anne, have you done the basics for misbehaving apps? Have you been using 
the SUPP to keep up to date?

Try removing the preference file and cache. You'll find them in 
~/Library/Preferences/ and ~/Library/Cache

If that doesn't work, trash them again and do a reinstall.

I've got a G4 800 tower with only 2gigs of space on the HD and iMovie HD 
runs okay. (Granted, I should have at least 10 to do anything, but it'll 
play small files.) And yes, if you were to try to output HD movies, you 
would probably need a faster processor.
