Hello,

Depending on how extensive you want this to appear,
  an option may be to go to...

  > System Preferences > Universal Access > Display:

...and switch to "White on Black" by selecting its radio
  button.  This gives an inverse (color-negative) image
  of a normally light colored desktop and text, but it may
  give you what you want.
