turn camera off, connect the usb cable, turn the camera on. it should  
mount in the finder as a 'no name' disk image. i've mounted all sorts  
of odd ball cameras accordingly.

applications > image capture > preferences is where you select which  
application (or none) opens when a disk image is mounted. iphoto is  
the default application, but image capture handles the card. best...jf
