Ben, a year ago I had my old printer go bad, out of warranty forever. I nevertheless called Epson tech, I explained what it did and what it did not do anymore, ( it had been a free gift when I purchased a computer) he out of the blue gave me three options, to get $ 100.00 off on a printer they advertised or $ 50.00 on one of my choice or I could send it in if I would bring it to ( I believe UPS or maybe Federal Express , it would not cost me anything to ship, (they would repair it for free) I was taken aback, thanked him profusely and low and behold, a week or so later came a printer back, it was not my old model, but a much newer one. I thought they made a mistake, so I called, but the answer was that they often did that, it would save them time and money. The one they sent was an Epson stylus 7800 photo printer. Well, it still runs smoothly---- I have no idea what I did to the guy, of course I told him how I was wedded to that wonderful printer, that it had done me so well for so long, I had always liked the Epson products ( which I do because I know no other) and that I was in the ripe old age category! It won't cost you anything to try. Remind them this is Christmas and giving time. Marta
