i remember doing that a one point when insight had internal issues in  
the fall of 06. unfortunately, i don't remember the secret handshake.

however, on subsequent installs of 10.4 since that time, special  
settings were not required and insight has been perfectly reliable.

i have encountered problems in 10.5 leopard with keychain. the  
solution was deleting the leopard mail user account keychain password  
and recreating the mail user account. best...jf
