I installed 10.5.1 on my G5 dual. I am experiencing erratic behavior. For
example, there is a program (Aether) that will not allow me to save changes
to the database file. In Console, it says:

1/5/08 2:45:08 PM Aether[1655] The temporary directory at
"/private/var/folders/zz/zzzivhrRnAmviuee+++++++++++/TemporaryItems/(A
Document Being Saved By Aether 3)" could not be deleted.

I tried to delete the temporary file by entering in Terminal:
sudo rm -r /private/var/folders/zz/zzzivhrRnAmviuee+++++++++++/

That did nothing to solve the problem. I then ran Disk Utility to repair
permissions and then Disk Warrior 4.0 repairs. Disk Warrior reported that
some errors could not be fixed, for example (there are about 6 more similar
entries:

File: "com.apple.itools.settings.plist"

Detected that Property List data is damaged and cannot be repaired.

XML parser error:

Unexpected character a at line 1

Old-style plist parser error:

Unexpected ';' or '=' after key at line 2

Location: "G5 Macintosh HD/Users/robertklein/Library/Preferences/"

What do I do now? Reinstall Leopard? Please help me out on this--it's
making me (more) crazy!

Thanks,

Robert
