best practice says to create a user account and work from that
account, but i have never followed his advice.
you can create a root account by booting from the install disk, then
select enable root from the menu bar in the intial install window.
assign root password then logout/login as root. i see no merit for
your situation, i think you just want to rename admin. best...jf
