Been using iDefrag for a couple of years now, with the regular
 revision updates to the program, and never had more than a
 system alert sound (make noises when done) beyond normal
 expectations.
As far as I've read or heard, the system OS does NOTHING to
 the unused disk space to maintain an open free single block
 of disk space, even once in a while.
I only use iDefrag several times a year, and it's just fine.

That would scare me. My computer makes noises right before the HD decides it is gonna die.
