I connected and external monitor to the iBook. The start up screen shows
up on it but after the os loads the cursor freezes and I have to hit
escape to unfreeze it but then the picture goes off. I press the power
button and the picture on the external monitor comes back but the cursor
is frozen.

When the computer started up with the external monitor attached the
laptop's screen seemed normal but after a few seconds it went dark.

So maybe it's the video card and not the lcd.

BTW, shining the flashlight and pressing the F2 key didn't seem to do
anything.
