i did one with two crucial 512M. there are two slots for "two different size" ram chips. the lower is larger than the upper. the base must be un-assembled to access the lower slot, but it is straight forward. i'm certain there is a tech support on the apple knowledge base. best...jf

How much ram can I put in the lampshade?
It only has 256 MB SDRAM now.
I have added/replaced ram in 6100, 9600, and ibook, but might be a bit
intimidated by the dome.
Do I recall that there is only one accessible slot? and another
somewhere fiendish to get at?

If I can get enough ram, I might try the speed hack thing and see if
Leopard will work.

Any advice welcome

I also have a lampshade Mac and second those who wish Apple still made
'em. It's the best Mac I ever owned (hope I don't jinx it!), and of
all the "upgrades" and model changes Apple has thrust upon us,
deserting the lampshade has annoyed and inconvenienced me most.
