Ok, one two related questions.

1.For putting these photos on the web is scanning at 72dpi sufficient or
should I go higher

2. what mode should I scan in the photos (keep in mind these are black
and white photos)

        these are my choices

    48 bit color
    24 bit color
    color smoothing
    16 bit grayscale
    8 bit grayscale
    halftone
    Black & White
