Under $600 for the 3 pack (which do not have to be installed in the same

Technically or realistically?  ;)  Technically, back in 2003/2004 (PC/Mac 
editions), they were supposed to be for teachers & students only however they 
were sold to anyone and not necessarily in bookstores.  I don't believe most, 
if any, places required any sort of special ID.
Last year, they were renamed Home & Student so since everyone lives in some 
kind of "home", there definitely was no special requirement on the newer 
version.  These copies can legally be installed on 3 units within the same 
location, even if 1 moves away.

Just an FYI, colleges each have their own special "deals" worked out with 
Microsoft and copies of Office can be purchased less expensively at many 
universities (such as by those attending at IU Southeast).

I'm not speaking on behalf of Microsoft but that's how I understand things to 
be.
