Hmm... I've purposely cleared my cache in the past without invoking this behavior. Safari has always done the routine of taking
foo and searching for it, if not found, looking for foo.com and if that is not found, trying www.foo.comMy guess is that the DNS from the ISP is now jumping in and putting up an annoying page instead of telling Safari that the site was not found. I really don't want this behavior, but I don't know how to avoid it. Perhaps there is an app which I can use to refuse any pages from the ISP?
