Thanks to everyone for your comments. To explain my situation further,
I purchased the G5 in 2005 with the focus on using the Apple Cinema
Displays, and the easy swap of hard drives. My use is primarily image
editing with Photoshop CS3, Lightroom 2.0, and the other components of
the Adobe CS3 suite. I fill up HD's pretty quick with 10 megapixel RAW
files. I have 1.5 TB in externals, and 2x320 GB in the G5. I'd like to
stick with the G5 tower due to the easy internal HD swaps. I purchased
a 1 TB drive approx. 1 month ago, the 320 GB drives still have approx.
50 GB each free. The new Mac Pro's are just too much $$$, especially
right now. I projected I could get 10 yrs. out of the G5. BTW,
although the early versions of 10.6 Snow Leopard did not support Power
PC processors, I understand subsequent versions of 10.6 do support
Power PC, and Apple says they will continue to support the Power PC
machines through the next version os OS X. Yes, someday Apple's
support for Power PC's will end, but I have friends still editing
images with G4's and iBooks. Fortunately, I have a 2 year old Mac Book
Pro as a back up, so I'm not without a computer, and have some
breathing room.
