On one of my first days in the office, I was working on concrete beam  
designs using my slide rule, when an old senior engineer walked by,  
stopped to look at my results, and then gave me some advice.
"Too many decimal places. " he said, " Just remember that engineering  
is an exact science based on assumptions."
