Anne,
     Just went through this a couple of days ago and some folks on the list
helped me. Open the movie in Quicktime (note: I am using Quicktime Pro - I
think the rest of this also applies to Quicktime). Under the "File" menu
select "Export."  At the bottom of the window that pops up select "Movie to
iPod" or "Movie to MPEG-4," either one will work on your iPod. Drag the
resulting file to iTunes and sync!
     Option 2 - if you already have the file open in iMovie, just go to the
"Share" menu and select "iPod." That's a lot quicker.
