I have iPhoto 8 and it has more features than I desire.

You can also change the date right in the information box in the lower left corner of iPhoto by typing over the date and or time. iPhoto 09
is a fantastic piece of software.

If you use iPhoto it's easy. Select the photo, open the Photos menu
Adjust Date and Time (or click Batch Change if you've got a bunch).
I haven't tried changing dates on other types of files.
