I'm pretty sure that was nothing more than a link to the Apple web site that the system puts in your dock by default. I always remove that from my dock when setting up a new system anyway, because it takes up space and I already have that bookmarked in Safari. So... don't worry about it, you haven't lost anything important. Dan
