Marta,
Select the file and do a Command-I to see the info window. Near the
bottom, there's an "Open with" pop-down, where you can change the
default.

style. I have Bean set that way.
I have forgotten how to have a file open in text edit by default,
instead of right click using "open with ...." I can't remember
where those basic "defaults" are located.
