Harry, For some reason this happened to me as well, at least something very similar. They told me to do a total reset of the phone, putting it back to factory settings, then reestablishing the settings with the stored backup that is always done in iTunes. It worked perfect but I have NO idea if this is what you need, I sure would ask the guys at the Genius bar to be sure for you may have something totally different.
