O.K., so you won't laugh lets set the boundaries right out of the box. I am illiterate when it comes to the iPad. Not that I can't use it but I have had syncing problems (as I guess others have) and when I find something that is a "gee whiz" I like to share........just in case there may be one other person as far behind the curve as I am.
I have several Mac's, the iTouch, and the iPhone that all sync with MobileMe. Works PERFECT. No flaws, haven't had any for a couple years........until I introduced the iPad. Good grief, what happened to my calendar? Lots of entries wiped out, all the others duplicated. I could not get it fixed. I would add the entries back in and as soon as I plugged the iPad into the system the demon forces took over. I talked to them at Apple and sure enough there is a problem, but you can go to MobileMe and sign up for the Beta version it will fix the problem. The only problem there is you say you want to use the Beta and they tell you that they will contact you with an invitation. I guess it is a Black Tie event and I wear brown shoes, or something so for now I can't plug the iPad into the system. BUT I did find a cool thing that I am sure all of you know. I bought a new piece of software yesterday, it had a 10 meg file included in the software that was a PDF file of the manual. I printed out almost 200 pages last night then I wondered if this could be loaded onto the iPad? I then emailed the PDF to myself and sure enough when the email on the iPad brought up the PDF and I double clicked on it the thing opened and at the top of the screen it offered to install it inside "iBooks". Now I have TWO tabs on the iBooks shelf, one for books, one for PDF's. How cool is that. The only question I have now, is there an easier way to install PDF's into the Library rather than emailing them to myself? I won't dock the iPad until I am on the Beta (if Apple ever extends the invitation) but once I can dock the thing can you install PDF's from your computer to the iPad by some manner? Thanks for your help. John _______________________________________________ MacGroup mailing list [email protected] http://www.math.louisville.edu/mailman/listinfo/macgroup
