Thanks, all.  Interesting reads, but no solutions.  Drat.  None
 of the MacFuse versions worked properly. The encryption
 initialization says it succeeded, but any mount attempts failed.

I need a recommendation for better (s/w product) solutions for
 full-disk encryption?  Previous product was "CipherWorks"
 from SubRosaSoft, but there's no support beyond MacOS X
 v10.4.11 for the full-disk encryption; disk tool options work,
 but not the disk encryption.

Disappointing.  Can anyone help?
