I have a Mac Book G4 (14", 1.25 GHz), a Power Book G4 (17", 1 GHz) and a Power Mac G4 tower (MDD) (1.33 GHz), all running OS X.5.8.

I could upgrade the hard drive and memory on the Mac Book G4, and the memory on the Power Book G4. But, the Power Mac G4 tower has a new 500 GB hard drive and 2 GB of memory.

Yet Firefox, and sometimes Safari, freezes consistently on all three.

Is it because the new Firefox is too "strong" for these processors? Should I delete Firefox and install an earlier version?

Is this a problem for anybody else?

Does anybody have any ideas?

TIA,
Jane
