I was in the midst of a Word for Mac document (I know; that's the root of my problem, also disloyal, but most of my editors require it) when I tried to open an older Word for Mac file and got the infernal, eternal beach ball. I have two pages of priceless prose -- unsaved, my fault again -- which I don't want to lose. As is, I can't print it, I can't copy it, I can't do anything with it except Force Quit, thereby losing my two pages of priceless prose, which I'm determined not to do if there's any way out. All suggestions will be most welcome and highly appreciated. Meantime, I'm going to keep the 'puter running as long as I can stand it or the electricity goes off, whichever comes first.
