With all the talk about the Time Machine, I went out an bought a copy
on CD by H.G. Wells, a Metro-Goldwin-Mayer original from about 1960,
starring Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux.
It is really a great movie, expecially when Rod goes into the future
and meets Yvette Mimieux. She is a real dish.

Thank you, Lee.
I'm now keeping Time machine off while using the computer.
Then, instead of shutting down, I klik computer preferences/Time
machine,
turn it on and back up.
When I return, I turn it off.

I would not even try to use Time Machine with a PPC Mac way too
slow a machine for that type of back up.
This is not necessarily so. I use Time Machine on a 2 GHz G5 machine
all the time with no problems. I would stay away from it, if the
backup drive is USB, but it should be all right to a network or
FireWire drive. I've even used it with a PowerBook G4 and a network
drive and don't recall too much of a problem most of the time.
