Mouse button down while starting up. (In case you didn't do just that.) Might 
need to be a wired mouse, though, since the Bluetooth ones probably don't 
connect until later in the startup process.

Also, make sure the disk slot is not closed up. I have gotten disks to eject on 
more than one computer merely by forcing the sides of the slot apart. I have 
seen this on laptops and iMacs. Your symptom here is that the drive SOUNDS like 
it is trying to eject the disc, but it doesn't come out.
