I have not used the card again, so maybe Image Rescue will work. I have looked for both the new photos, albums I created, and the other library, to no avail. I thought Spotlight would find anything that was there. I can't imagine how I could have edited those photos and put them in albums, only to not find a single one now.
It may be related to the fact that I used the Aperture trial for a month before purchasing the application. I mostly used my macbook pro for that since I could take it easily to the Apple store. When I purchased the application and started adding more photos, I had two somethings, maybe libraries, that the apple folk had to merge into one. That was easy enough to do with the smaller computer that I could take to the store. But on this iMac I can't even find anything to merge. Thank for the Image Rescue suggestion. It's worth a try.
