Luann:
After reading all the emails about the solution, I have another
suggestion.
It might be easier just to pick up your grandson, take him out and put
him on a horse, and take some more pictures.

I recently uploaded pictures into Aperture 3 on my iMac running
10.6.8.
I created albums and did some editing. The next day, the pictures
were not there.
In fact, when I opened Aperture the next day, I vaguely recall a
choice between two somethings, maybe two libraries. I wasn't paying
much attention, and clicked whatever was at the top, which opened
Aperture into a library which was different from the one I had used
the night before, and none of the newer photos can be found.
I have looked through all my images and have spotlighted the names
of the new albums I created.
The originals were trashed from the card once I imported them.
Mistake #1. Time machine didn't work because I had moved my
external drive to another computer. Mistake #2.
I am SICK!! These were pictures of my grandson's first horseback
riding lesson.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
