I think you're being unduly paranoid. Windows 7, patched up to date and with 
Microsoft Security Essentials installed isn't all that vulnerable unless you do 
stupid stuff like running software from dubious sources or surfing the seething 
underbelly of the Web without your trusty Firewall.

You probably have to use IE because any site with requirements like this 
probably has lazy programmers who don’t  test with anything else. But, I 
question the need for Boot Camp. Why not use one of the VM solutions like 
VirtualBox (free!) or Fusion. You might be able to avoid Windows altogether by 
using IE6 and Crossover.

Windows 7 isn't bad and is certainly a far cry from the Wild West days of 
Windows 95.
