I seem to recall that iPhoto is supposed to be able to handle up to 250,000 
photo files (including videos). I have about 16,000 photos in my largest iPhoto 
library (including 1500 homemade videos), and have not had any real problems so 
far. I wonder if the people having iPhoto issues are dealing with much larger 
libraries?
