Great info Dan. I see the future in mobile for the average user. Really at home
with someone who does nothing but web browsing and email what would you need
the headache of a computer operating system?
Many average users here at my work have stopped using their home computers I
say the day of the computer as a must have item is done. Users will continue
to have tablets and mobile phones as their access to the internet.

Subject: [MacGroup] Louisville.com stats for OS

For the past several years I've posted to this group the December statistics
for operating systems used by computers that access our website,
Louisville.com<http://Louisville.com>. This year's 2012 OS stats give the
breakdown by percentage of the 120,897 computer users who visited
Louisville.com<http://Louisville.com> in December 2012 and compares this year's
numbers to the same month's numbers going back to 2007.

The continuing and still accelerating decline of Windows as the OS of people
coming to the site is particularly striking, as is the meteoric rise of the
mobiles, iOS and Android. 2013 will no doubt be the year that Windows visitors
drop to less than half of the users visiting our site. Who would have predicted
that in 2007?

I have no idea how our stats (from Google Analytics) compare to national stats,
but I have no reason to think that Louisville.com<http://Louisville.com> would
differ much from other sites. If anyone has national stats, I'd like to see
them.

Dan
