There are several things you can look at.

Run Activity Monitor to see if there are any really hungry programs running in 
the background. Click on the % CPU column to order the processes by most to 
least hungry.

Run the Console and spelunk the logs to see if there are persistent errors.

Check out a site like speedtest.net to see if your connection is running as 
fast as you expect it to. I had one of those machines, and, at that time, the 
Airport cards for them didn't support 802.11n — 802.11g was the fastest. Are 
you sure your card supports the "n" protocol from your router?
