The ram is not going to do anything to the speed of the G5. Ram is used to
keep a program from reading the hard drive for more data during the use of a
program. Buffering of video from the net has little to do with that.
As stated your internet connection is involved with that.
Your best upgrade is getting a new Mac. The G5 is slow old that it can barely
keep up anymore.
I just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro retina with 512 gig hard drive and it runs
programs so fast now a half a bounce to launch any program now. It is so nice
to use.

Subject: [MacGroup] My G5 is slow or sort of Freezes on Videos? Help?

How can I speed up my G5?

It is a 2004 Machine with a max memory of 8gb.

It has a 2.5 dual processor.

Right now I have 7 gigs of memory until I can afford 2 more 1 gig.

It just seems really sluggish playing videos or video and music?

What can I do to speed it up? It seems like it takes a long time to download or
buffer the videos to where t
to where it will stop until it receives it?

Could it be because of my wireless? We just upgraded to an "N" Router.

And to run an E Cable out to the garage would be hard to do without out it
sagging as my Router is about 50 plus feet away from the garage?

Help!
