Hi Anne, I would like to see the answers to the other stuff too as I just got a Mac Mini. I was not sure to firewire the stuff from my G5 or quite how to do it. When I set up my Mac Mini it automatically scanned for Networks and I was right up as I was not sure if I needed my old card or not but I am assuming yours is built in too like mine was, I wish I could help on the other but I am sure you will receive an answer from one of the users as I would like to know the answer too. Steve

Since I previously moved stuff from old to new, but continued to work mostly on old I need to move all stuff from ole to new. Old: 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) New: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 running Mac OS X 10.8.3 (Puma aka Mountain Lion:) My plan: Set up new account on new machine. Use Migration Assistant to move all from old to new account. Then move photos from old account on new iMac to new account on iMac. After this I plan on deleting the old account on the new iMac. It is the latter I don't know how to do. Actually not sure about the former two steps but figure I should be able to figure them out. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance - before I screw up both machines. Second problem. I have Time Capsule (backup + wireless base station) and want to set it up. Currently using Airport Extreme for my wireless onnection. If I just unhook the Extreme and hook up the Capsule will I have immediate wireless connection or will I have to make some settings somewhere? I don't want to lose the wireless connection because then I won't be able to ask for help. I always prefer Apple because everything is so easy; however I am always very tentative when making any major changes because I'm afraid I'll end up with nothing working. Anne Cartwright P. S. I have everything backed up to external hard drives on both machines. _______________________________________________ MacGroup mailing list [email protected] http://www.math.louisville.edu/mailman/listinfo/macgroup
