This won't be a problem much longer. Netflix has announced they will be using 
HTML5 video streaming everywhere by the end of the year. They already support 
it on some platforms. For example, their client on the iPad has been HTML5 from 
the beginning.

I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if changing Safari's user agent string in 
the Develop menu to iPad's Safari might fool Netflix into serving HTML5 to a 
Mac right now.
