I accidentally deleted a mailbox that seemed to be empty but along with it went
a couple of other mailboxes that I want back.

OK. I have back-uped on an external hard drive.

While in Apple Mail (4.6) went to Help>Mail Help> Archiving Mailboxes (in the
search box). Choose the topic that sounded best: Importing mailboxes (Mail can
import messages from other email applications, or messages that you’ve archived
using Mail).

Maybe my problem is that I didn't archive the mailboxes using Apple Mail. I
just backed up my Library. Went to Library>Mail>Mailboxes>Travel (the mailbox
in which the mailboxes I want are located)>Australia.mbox. (4.3 MB: There are 3
items in this mailbox (Attachment folder) info.plist file and Messages folder
(113 items in this folder and I can view each one, but would really like to
have them back in my Apple Mail.)

I've attempted to import the Australia.mbox but get the following message.
However one of the choices is select “Files in mbox format” and locate the
folder containing the files. Did that and got the following:
Error
No valid mbox files were found.

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong or how this should be done?

TIA,
Anne Cartwright
