Jason I have a friend who has this weird black box (I have no clue what it is)
But same thing that happened to me my mac book pro went dark. Went to his office (Moberly Photography) and he unscrewed the back of my computer. He took the hard drive out and put it in the black box hooked to his mac desktop and my hard drive appeared. I needed a logic board. $380 at apple. But working perfectly. I can arrange with him to have you swing by and we can drop your hard drive in to make sure its NOT your hard drive. Very simple and easy to do. You let me know.
