I've searched for iTime Machine and could find nothing up-to-date. I'm curious about how the notice to use it came to you.
Also searched how to best use Time Machine with AirDisks and found this very informitive site:

http://pondini.org/TM/Airport.html

Personally, I have an external drive (Western Digital) plugged into my laptop with Time Machine backing up to that. Once a month, I make a clone with SuperDuper on another external drive, and keep it off site. Tried once using the old AirPort Extreme with TimeMachine, but never could make it work well.

That article specifies iTime Machine is for Leopard OS and I think it's dated as a 2008 article, what version are you running?

I don't use TimeMachine, but here is a link to an article about iTimeMachine.  Hope it helps clear up some thing.   http://lifehacker.com/341704/time-machine-over-the-network-with-itimemachine.
