We have registered our home phone lines with the National Do Not Call Registry as well as the Political Do Not Call Registry and I do have to say it has significantly cut down on the number of calls we have received. Your mileage may vary, but I highly recommend it. We do still get the occasional survey or similar call, but no where near as bad as it used to be. We get more calls from a collection agency looking for someone who doesn't live at our address, but has the same initials as my husband's.
The Political Do Not Call list took a while to catch on with the politicians I believe, but I think they are starting to realize if they bother people who don't want to be bothered they are losing votes, so we don't receive near the amount of political calls around election time that we used to either.
