Lee, Jonathan, Russ…..

Thanks to you Lee and Jonathan, the culprit was Dropbox!!!

The two older machines are still not speed demons but boy they are at least 
usable.  

I don’t know the problem but even on the MacPro with 12 processors Dropbox is 
taking more CPU than any other program by a wide margin and on the Macbook Pro 
and Mini the CPU was completely seized by Dropbox under Yosemite.

So, I have deleted DropBox, don’t really need it for my use as iCloud is now 
open to storing and or moving files.

I thank you folks for your help ever so much.
